Work Instruction Template
The Work Instruction Template is an all purpose instructional document for pharmacies to complete.
The template contains all the sections necessary to remain compliant with regulatory agencies.
Pharmacies begin by interviewing the subject matter experts on the steps for performing a specific task.
Typically, a work instruction involves the steps for one task performed by one specific role.
However, a work instruction may involve more than one role, provided the steps relate to completing one specific task.
The author completes the template by entering the information in the appropriate sections.
Authors can use the template repeatedly to document various tasks.
An author can list related tasks that reference each other in the References section of each document. Also, a document only lists another work instruction in the Reference section if it explicitly references that document in the Work Instructions section.
Also, the Work Instructions section uses Step Styles. Authors can access them through the Styles Pane.
Alternatively, the author can press the Tab button after pressing Return at the end of a step to indent the line to create sub-steps.
The author completes all sections of the document, and sends for review by all stakeholders.
Once ready for signatures, the author sends the document for approvals to the appropriate roles within the organization.
Those personnel can sign the document electronically, sign a printed copy of the signatories page, or sign through the eDMS.
Once captured, the signatures should be attached to the completed document above the cover page.
The author should PDF that version prior to release, and then store it in an eDMS for future reference.
All personnel required to Read and Understand the document should sign off, once that task is complete.
Additionally, those signatures should be captured and stored for audit purposes.
